Cord End Terminals (also reffered to as Ferrules) are used to terminate the ends of stranded wire prior to fitting in screw type terminal blocks or connectors. The crimped on ferrule protects the exposed wire strands from being damaged by the screw and results in a stronger and more reliable connection.

Two types of ferrule are available, insulated and plain. The insulated variety are also available in a dual entry style allowing two wires to be terminated together.

Insulated cord ends are colour coded for easy identifcation. There are two colour code systems in general use, the French system and the German system, Both types are available to buy online.
